Gishwati-Mukura National Park

Gishwati-Mukura National Park is Rwanda's newest and smallest national park, established in 2015 to protect and restore two of the country's last remaining montane rainforests. Located in western Rwanda along the Congo-Nile divide, it was designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in October 2020 for its ecological importance and restoration success.
